New episodes of Hasbro Studios’ Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters are set to drop next month. Internet streaming service Netflix will release the show’s 10-episode second season on September 7th. To promote the launch, Hasbro has streamed a trailer for the new batch that showcases the Flex Fighters deal with the repercussions of being super heroes and … romance?
Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters follows high school student Jake Armstrong and his two best friends Nathan Park and Ricardo Perez who are accidentally exposed to an experimental chemical that forever changes their seemingly normal lives, transforming them into unlikely heroes who embark on a series of adventures.
The first 13-episodes of the show debuted on November 17th. An interactive special, called Stretch Armstrong: The Breakout was released on Netflix earlier this year. The series was initially greenlit for 26 episodes. IDW published a 3-issue comic book adaptation between April and July 2018. Hasbro released a toyline last winter.
Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters is developed for television by Executive Producer and Supervising Director Victor Cook (Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated) and Executive Producer/Story Editors/Head Writers Chris “Doc” Wyatt (Ultimate Spider-Man, Napoleon Dynamite) and Kevin Burke (Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble). The series stars Scott Menville as Jake / Stretch, Steven Yeun as Nathan Park / Wingspan and Ogie Banks as Ricardo Perez.
