Subway Surfers Animated Series Gets a Trailer
A few months ago, it was announced that the popular mobile endless runner game, Subway Surfers, will be getting its own animated series. While news about the series has quieted down after that initial announcement, production on the series continues in the background and the first peek at the finished product can now be enjoyed via an official trailer:
As the trailer shows, the Subway Surfers animated series uses traditional 2D animation instead of CG, which means it looks stylistically (though not conceptually) different from the 3D game but ends up all the better for it, as the 2D animation adds a lot of character to the scenes and makes the series stand out from many CG animated shows that are all the rage these days.
The Subway Surfers cartoon will follow the adventures of player characters Jake, Tricky, and Fresh and will consist of 10 x 4 minute episodes, followed by a long form series that consists of 22 minute episodes. The series is expected to debut this summer.
