There was a time when people thought Nintendo releasing their most prized IPs on a competitor’s device would signal the apocalypse, especially if it’s on very threatening competitor like Apple’s iOS devices (smartphones have become the biggest threats to Nintendo’s popular handhelds), so we’re hoping you guys would be able to finish your underground bunkers before December 15, 2016, because that’s the iOS debut of Super Mario Run.
Priced at a hefty $9.99 (for mobile, that is), Super Mario Run is an endless runner that features Nintendo’s extremely popular plump plumber. While interested players will be able to download the app and try out certain elements of the game for free, those who do want the full experience (and who wouldn’t?) must shell out the full price.
Super Mario Run will be available on December 18 in 151 countries and regions, with support for a variety of languages that include English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian, and traditional Chinese.
