German media company and brand management m4E AG is taking over merchandising and licensing responsibilities for Super Wings in German-speaking territories from South Korea’s EBS, FunnyFlux and CJ E&M; China’s Qianqi Animation; U.S.-based Little Airplane Productions; and co-production partner KiKA.
The contract gives m4e representation for all categories except home entertainment and television.
A wide range of the animated preschool series Super Wings playthings, globally distributed by Alpha Toys will land in Switzerland, Austria and Germany midway through next year. KiKA, the leading German kids channel will launch the series early 2017 in a primetime broadcast slot.
According to m4e’s Licensing Manager for G/A/S Judith Boehnke, “Super Wings has all the important ingredients to succeed and is a very promising property based on the high toy sales from markets such as France, Spain and Italy. The prime time broadcast slot on KiKA offers the idea conditions for this action-packed preschool brand to establish itself in the German-speaking markets.”
The series promotes creative problem-solving and cultural diversity through the animated journeys of Jett, a self-confident young jet plane who travels the globe with his flying friends in order to transport special packages to children. From the time when the series was launched in Korea on EBS in 2014, Super Wings has sold to more than 40 countries including the U.S, where the toy line will be launched on October.
