This weekend, the lucky attendees of WonderCon in Anaheim will have a chance to see the world premiere of DC Universe’s latest original animated feature, Superman vs. The Elite. With a rating of PG-13, Superman vs The Elite will be screened on Friday, March 16, at 6:30 PM at the Anaheim Convention Center Ballroom.
Superman vs The Elite is based on the original 2001 DC comics story “What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?”, which ran in Action Comics’ 775th issue, which was praised by critics, with Wizard magazine even proclaiming it as “The Greatest Superman Story of All time”.
In Superman vs The Elite, Superman’s worth as Earth’s guardian is put into question with the arrival of a new group of super powered crusaders who refer to themselves as “The Elite.” The new superheroes’ methods run in direct contrast with Superman’s as they will stop at nothing in order to stop villainy, even willing to commit murder on a massive scale. Of course, the inherent risk in their methods will put them on a collision course with the big blue boyscout.
The Superman vs The Elite screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the cast and crew, featuring award winning comic book auteur Joe Kelly and voice actor Robin Atkin Downes.
