Voice cast members for the new Disney Channel animated series Tangled: Before Ever After has been announced. Joining the stars Mandy Moore (Rapunzel) and Zachary Levy (Eugene) are Ashley Judd (Rapunzel’s mother Queen Arianna), Eden Espinosa (Rapunzel’s handmaiden and confidant Cassandra), Jeff Ross (Hook Foot) and Richard Kind (Uncle Monty).
Jeffrey Tambor as Big Nose, Paul F. Tompkins as Shorty M.C. Gainey as Captain of the Guards will reprise their roles from the 2010 film. Joining the cast are Peter MacNicol (Nigel the Advisor), Sean Hayes (Pete the Guard), Clancy Brown (King Frederic), Diedrich Bader (Stan the Guard), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (blacksmith Xavier), Steve Blum (Pub Thug Attila Buckethead), Charles Halford (Pub Thug Vladimir), James Monroe Iglehart (Lance Strongbow), Jonathan Banks (Quirin) and Jeremy Jordan (Varian).
The film is set between the events of the movie and the beginning of the 2012 short Tangled Ever After. It follows Rapunzel as she gets familiar with her recently discovered self, kingdom, parents and the colorful characters of Corona. Disney Television animation produced the series and it is set to premiere in 2017 on Disney Channels all over the world.
The series was developed by Chris Sonnenburg (Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore (The LEGO Movie). Chris Sonnenburg also serves as supervising director and executive director, Jase Ricci (Penn Zero) is story editor, Benjamin Balisteri (How to Train Your Dragon) and Alan Bodner (The Iron Giant) is art director. Tangled: Before Ever After will feature music by Disney Legend Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. Kevin Kliesch (Tangled Ever After) will be the score composer while Artist Claire Keane (Frozen, Tangled) is contributing design work and consulting on the series.
