There’s a new teaser trailer out for Tim Burton’s new monochrome CG movie Frankenweenie. Based on Burton’s acclaimed short, Frankenweenie tells the story of a boy named Victor who, like the literary character he is modeled after, harnessed the power of lightning to bring his deceased dog, Sparky, back to life. Of course, there wouldn’t be no movie if everything worked out well – a dead dog running around town is sure to have unexpected consequences.
The teaser video shows the revival process, as well as some clips of Sparky’s interactions with the townspeople:
As expected with any Tim Burton film, Frankenweenie features a star-studded voice cast that includes Martin Short, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron, and Conchata Ferrel. The film uses his trademark stop-motion animation technique, and is produced in black and white. The film will be released in both 2D and stereoscopic 3D formats on October 5, 2012.
