Technicolor to Adapt THE DEEP

Technicolor has recently acquired the rights for Tom Taylor (Star Wars: Blood Ties, Batman: Legends of the DarkKnight) and illustrator James Brower’s hit graphic novel series The Deep, which is published by Gestalt Comics.

The Deep focuses on the Nekton Family, which live aboard a state-of-the-art submarine called The Aronnax and explore uncharted areas of the Earth’s oceans. Each member of the family possesses unique skills and intense passion for sea life conservation, with their main goal being to solve the ultimate mysteries related to the lost city of Atlantis.

Technicolor’s plan is to produce 26 x 30 episodes of The Deep, using CG animation in order to bring the family’s incredible underwater adventures to life. The series is targeted towards kids aged 8 to 12 along with their families, with each episode bringing the Nektons one step closer to unraveling the mysteries of the deep while providing action, adventure, awesome sea monsters, fantastic vehicles and the odd family squabbles.
