DHX Media is reportedly going to bring back Tinky Winky, Dipsy, La-La, and Po – collectively known as the Teletubbies. Only this time, the popular live-action preschool series will get a little bit of help from CGI via the UK production company Darrall Macqueen. DHX Media is said to be planning 60 new episodes for the new series, which will be carried by Cbeebies.
For the uninitiated, Teletubbies originally started airing in March 1997, featuiring four colorful and pudgy extraterrestrials who go around a colorful landscape being cute, doing random stuff, and teaching kids a lesson or two along the way. The original episodes aired in more than 120 territories and was translated to 45 different languages, making it one of the most successful children’s brands in the world.
