The Pound Puppies to Discovery and Hasbro's Hub

Introduced by Tonka in the 1980s, Pound Puppies was a popular cartoon and toy line that even had it’s own feature film. The toys were soft, adoptable plush puppies, and the toon featured dogs every bit as lovable. Fast forward some 30 years later where Hasbro and Discovery plan to feature an all new styled Pound Puppies toon on their joint venture, The Hub. The series, which will launch with the network on October 10th, stars a team of fearless dogs who find homes for puppies in need – “A pup for every person and a person for every pup.” The Pound Puppies do everything they can to help dog-kind, even pretending to just be a regular dog to those who work at Shelter 17. The new series features a number of celebrity voices, including: Betty White, Eric McCormack, Michael Rapaport, John DiMaggio, Alanna Ubach, Rene Auberjonois, and Yvette Nicole Brown.

They needed to leave the pound puppies alone. The “upgraded” version just isn’t the same. That’s NOT what the pound puppies look like!

I’m skeptical, but the reboot My Little Pony show caught me by surprise, so this deserves a chance before I turn the other cheek.

i agree with Sami they should not have redone the show and that is not what they look like at all i mean i give props for the effort and to Erick McCormick for the voice of lucky but cooler the original leader would even beat him in thinking of ideas or plans for the puppies to get the others adopted and speaking of pound puppies i just seen one of the original episodes to day 7-20-2011 which is titled “Whopper cries uncle” that episode made me laugh as do all of the others excluding the newer version which only confused me
