Theatrical Release of Blinky Bill Revealed

Viewers are on hand to experience a cinematic CG expedition through the Australian outback this fall when Blinky Bill: The Movie premieres on October 7, 2016 in U. S. theaters via Shout! Factory Kids. The PG-rated feature film is inspired by the iconic Australian character, which was initially introduced to readers in 1933. Presented by Studio 100 Film and Shout! Factory kids, the movie is produced by Flying Bark Productions with Telegael Teoranta and Assemblage Entertainment.

The movie features Blinky Bill (Ryan Kwanten), a little koala with a huge imagination and adventure in his heart. Blinky Bill wishes to leave their small town of Green Patch to look for his father who went missing some time ago in the Outback. When Blinky finds out about a mysterious marker that suggests the location of his father, he embarks on an expedition to the risky Australian wilderness where he meets a zoo koala Nutsy and a panicky frill-necked lizard. Followed by a revengeful cat (Rufus Sewell), the 3 friends should know how to work together if they are going to endure the Outback and locate Blinky’s father.

Aside from Sewell and Kwanten, the movie also features the voices of David Wenham, Toni Collette, Robin Mcleavy, Richard Roxburgh, Barry Humphries and Barry Otto. Blinky Bill: The Movie is written by Fin Edquist, directed by Deane Taylor and co-directed by Alexs Stadermann and produced by Jim Ballantine and Barbara Stephen. Music by Dale Cornelius, Rebecca Toliday as CG producer, Simon Klaebe as editor and executive producers Paul Cummins, Hans Bourlon, A.K. Madhavan, Brian Rosen, Emily Price and Gert Verhulst.
