Tom Hanks’ Electric City to Debut on Yahoo This July

Tom Hanks’ Electric City, a new animated project that he exec produced and voiced, will be premiering on Yahoo.com this July. The show, which was originally announced last January, is backed by Reliance Entertainment and Hanks’ own Playtone. Electric City also features a star studded voice cast that includes Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ginnifer Goodwin, Holland Taylor, and Chris Parnell, along with Hanks himself.

Hanks describes Electric City as a thriller set in a post apocalyptic world, where electricity is scarce and considered as a very, very precious commodity. The 10 x 5-7 minute web series will be made available on Yahoo starting on July 17, 2012. In support of the series, Reliance’s Jump Games has also developed an iOS (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch) and Android based App that provides a role playing game and other interactive extras that will build on the show’s narrative.

You can watch the official trailer via Yahoo.
