Tomorrow’s Quarterfinal Match is the last match of the 3rd Round of the ToonOlympics! On Thursday, we will post the first of 2 Semi-Final Matches. This coming Monday, we will post the Final Match of the ToonOlympics. When the Final Match is posted, you will have 4 days to vote for the Gold Medal Winner, which will be announced by ToonBarn Harry at the Closing Ceremonies that Friday, September 7, 2012. The ToonOlympics QuarterFinals voting will continue through this Wednesday at Midnight, with only 1 more Quarterfinal match left after today.

The ToonOlympics competition continues today with our 3rd match of the Quarterfinal round. The matchup is between United Kingdom and New Zealand. The cartoon from United Kingdom is called Dreamland (Doctor Who). Dreamland (Doctor Who) won its second round match by defeating Brazil’s Escola pra Cachorro 11-4. Dreamland (Doctor Who) is going up against a New Zealand cartoon series called Pocket Protectors, which defeated China’s Century Sonny 34-3 in the second round.

Dreamland (Doctor Who)
Dreamland (Doctor Who) is the fifth animated Doctor Who serial (based on the British science fiction television live action series) to air on television, and the second to air after the revival of the live-action series in 2005. It stars David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and aired in six parts (one 12-minute episode, followed by five 6 minute episodes) broadcast daily from 21 November 2009 on the BBC’s Red Button service, the official Doctor Who website and the BBC iPlayer. The 6-episode storyline covers the following plot:
America, 1958. The Doctor makes a new friend, Cassie, who reveals that anyone approaching the Top Secret Dreamland Army base goes missing. Dreamland will see the Doctor arrive at the infamous alien hot spot, Roswell, New Mexico (Area 51).
During a visit to a local diner he stumbles upon a mysterious alien artefact that leads him on a mission to rescue Rivesh Mantilax from the threat of the Viperox and the clutches of the American military. The Doctor discovers an alien army hatching beneath the New Mexico desert while inside Dreamland, survivors of an extraterrestrial war possess a weapon powerful enough to destroy Earth.

Pocket Protectors (New Zealand)
Pocket Protectors is an animated cartoon series made in New Zealand by Mukpuddy Animation, an animation studio based in Auckland, NZ. They specialise in 2D
animation and making cartoons. It follows Ollie, a young boy who inherits a pocket protector full of tiny robot stationery.
When Ollie is given a pocket protector full of old fashioned stationery by his Dad, the last thing he expected was for them to transform into tiny robots, known as the Pocket Protectors, intent on guiding Ollie through “tough times”. The only problem is… the Pocket Protectors make Ollie’s life more difficult than it already was… thanks to them being completely delusional.
