New Trailer for Spain's Metegol

A new trailer has been released for the Spanish CG-animated soccer adventure Metegol. The 3D animated feature marks director Juan Jose Campanella’s first foray into animation, with the story being based off of “Memoirs of a Right Winger” by Argentinian writer Roberto Fontanarrosa.

Metegol follows the story of a shy but talented boy named Amadeo, who seeks to reunite a dismantled fusball team in order to take on its ultimate rival.

The script for Metegol was written by Gaston Gorali, Axel Kuschevatzky and Eduardo Sacheri, who also adapted The Secret in Their Eyes, the 2009 Academy Award-winning film directed by Campanella. The film is scheduled to hit international theaters later this year, but there’s no word on whether it will be available in the US, especially since it’s a Spanish language film.
