TRAILER: Universal’s Jem and the Holograms Live Action Film

Universal has recently posted the official trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of the iconic 80s cartoon Jem and the Holograms, which has been penciled in for an October 23, 2015 release. Fans of the original can take a gander at what the studio is going to do to their beloved Jem by watching the trailer right after the cut:

Directed by Jon M. Chu (of Justin Bieber’s Believe and Step Up 3D) and written by Ryan Landels, the modern take on the glam rock cartoon will feature Aubrey Peeples in the role of Jerrica Benton, who is a camera-shy orphan that got her taste of quasi-fame when her sister Kimber (played by Stefanie Scott) uploads her videos online. Together with their foster sisters, the Bentons go on an exciting music-driven adventure through Los Angeles, but can their friendship handle the pressure of being famous?
