We’re only a couple of days away from the nationwide premiere of Disney/Pixar’s summer feature Brave, so it makes sense that the studios have released a teaser trailer and several images for their next summer movie, Monsters University.
Scheduled for a June 21, 2013 release, Monsters University is the prequel to the 2001 blockbuster Monsters, Inc. and follows the original antagonists Mike Wazowski and James Sullivan during their college days. The official synopsis from the studio:
“From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other,” says the release. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.”
Monsters University is directed by Dan Scanlon (of Cars, Master and the Ghostlifht). And produced by Kori Rae (of Up, The Incredibles, and Monsters Inc.). The movie will feature a star studded voice cast that includes Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Nuscemi, Dave Foley, Julia Sweeney, Joel Murray, and Peter Sohn.
