Tricon and Mercury Team Up for Go Away Unicorn!

Tricon Films & Television and Mercury FilmWorks have recently joined forces in order to develop a new animated children’s bridge series titled Go Away Unicorn! (52 x 11), which is based on the popular children’s book written by author and illustrator Emily Mullock. Go Away Unicorn will be a Mercury Filmworks and Tricon Films & Television co-production with Tricon also serving as the international distributor.

Go Away Unicorn! follows the story of twins Alice and Ollie, as they are swept up in the chaos wrought by an exuberant unicorn and a timid dragon. Together, they learn that differences are something that should be embraced and that friendship can be found in the unlikeliest of places.

“Everyone who reads this book can’t help falling in love with Emily’s engaging characters, and we couldn’t have found a more talented partner than Mercury to adapt the story for television,” said Jon Rutherford, Senior Vice President Distribution and Business Development, Tricon Films & Television. “Mercury’s creative vision and impressive track record for bringing characters to life is second to none.”

“Working with Tricon has been a wonderful and highly collaborative experience,” says Mercury Filmworks President, Clint Eland. “Their dedication to quality kids programming and their world-wide distribution expertise is a perfect fit. We couldn’t have assembled a better team for this property.”

Go Away Unicorn! will be presented to broadcasters during MIPTV this April.
