Turner Acquires New Season of Gormiti
Turner Broadcasting has recently acquired the new season Mondo TV’s hit CG animated series Gormiti (52 x 22) and will be broadcasting it on its channels in 130+ countries all over the world.
Gormiti was originally developed for the 6-11 year old boy demographic, and debuted on Turner’s kids channel Boing in Spain and Italy earlier this year. Turner’s future plans include an international launch across all of EMEA next year, with the show also licensed by Cartoon Network and will be broadcast in countries not covered by Turner.
Gormiti is based on a popular toy and TGC property that focuses on a group of powerful elementals, basically the lords of the sea, earth, air, and fire, who fight it out on the world of Gorm in order to save the Earth from the evil of Magmion, the gormiti who has the power over lava.
Turner Broadcasting has also acquired the licensing and merchandising rights for Gormiti in EMEA (excluding Italy, San Marino, Vatican City and France), while Mondo TV Consumer Products will serve as sub-agent in territories including Russia, Eastern Europe, Ex-Yugoslavia, Greece, Spain and Portugal.
