Ragdoll Productions and DHX Media announced that CBeebies (UK broadcaster) has commissioned the second season of Twirlywoos, a stop-motion/live-action hybrid preschool series. According to DHX president and COO Steven DeNure, preschoolers and parents’ response to the series has been extraordinary. He also stated that Anne Wood, together with her Ragdoll team have made another charming and funny show that focuses the development of children.
Twirlywoos is developed and produced by Anne Wood, with Steve Roberts who serves as the writer and lead creative. Chris Wood produced the series, and Michael Towner as the executive producer for CBeebies. DHX Media co-produced the series and handles merchandising, global distribution, marketing and brand management.
Twirlywoods focuses on 4 tiny bird-like characters whose enthusiastic and inquisitive characters lead to funny circumstances as well as learning moments for preschoolers. They are very curious and they always look for fun and adventure anywhere they go – whether on their big red boat or in the real world. Through their adventures, children are encouraged to gain confidence and think for themselves.
