Twitch to stream original ReBoot as new series draws near

To coincide with the launch of ReBoot: The Guardian Code, Shout! Factory will be streaming a marathon of the original CG cult classic on Twitch. The event will kick off on March 28th at 3PM PDT/6PM EDT and run all 47 episodes from the original four-season run. The screening will also include the Fast Forward: The Making of ReBoot and Alpha Numeric: Looking Back at ReBoot with Co-Creator Gavin Blair mini-documentaries produced for Shout! Factory’s DVD release of the series. If you can’t make the live stream, you can always watch the entire series for free on Shout’s website.

Produced by Mainframe Entertainment, the original show broke ground as the first fully CG-animated half-hour television series. The series ran between 1994 and 2002 and concluded with a cliffhanger that remains unanswered to this very day.

Speaking of The Guardian Code, the contentious live-action/CG re-imagining continues to receive new media. Rainmaker has uploaded a number of videos highlighting the main cast of the series on the official YouTube channel:

The official ReBoot website has seen a massive overhaul, offering detailed descriptions of the characters and storylines you’ll find in the new show. In partnership with A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Digital, Rainmaker has also launched a ReBoot: Code Hacker puzzle game for iOS and Android devices. A virtual reality experience is also in development.

The first 10 episodes of ReBoot: The Guardian Code will debut on Netflix globally on March 30th. Those in Canada will have to wait until June when YTV’s launch of the series is expected to start.
