Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have released a new trailer for their upcoming holiday release Sing, which puts all sorts of animals in the spotlight, via a music-driven CG animated comedy story. The film is still a long ways off from its December 21 release date, but the trailer should be enough to convince anyone to check out the film. Sing is written and directed by Garth Jennings, whose past credits include Son of Rambow and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Sing is set in a fictional modern world inhabited solely by animals, with the main focus on a koala named Buster Moon, who is the owner of a once successful theater that is now on the verge of bankruptcy. His only hope lies in the production of the world’s greatest singing competition. This competition revolves around five popular entrants: a crooning con-artist mouse, a teenage elephant with massive stage fright, a mother pig struggling with her litter, a young gorilla trapped in a gangster life, and a punky porcupine being held down by her arrogant boyfriend.
