It took the help of animation (doesn’t everything? 🙂 ) but finally, after years of work, Where the Wild Things Are is coming to the big screen today. Where the Wild Things is an adaptation of the Maurice Sendak book of the same name, which came out in 1963. To reproduce the look of the monsters and wild creatures, the producers combined live action with CG, animatronics, and suitmation — actually using a giant suit, with some added effects. The result is a beautiful piece of film, brought to us by Legendary Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures, Playtone, and Warner Bros. Be sure to check out the trailer after the break. Anyone planning on seeing it this weekend?
