Wicked Cool Toys named Kung Fu Pork Choppers master licensee
CraneKahn, the new company from 4Kids Entertainment founder Alfred Kahn and writer, actress and producer Jillian Crane, has appointed Wicked Cool Toys as the master toy licensee on Kung Fu Pork Choppers. An English re-versioning of the Chinese CG-animated hit GG Bond, the show’s U.S. broadcaster is expected to be announced later this year. Wicked Cool Toys has pledged to produce a comprehensive line of collectibles, vehicles and figures tied to the series.
Aimed at kids 4-8, Kung Fu Pork Choppers follows a team of five young superhero pigs and their super-powered pets, which transform from the cutest creatures ever into mega-sized fighting machines with ultra-animal attributes. The Kung Fu Pork Choppers travel through space and time—and even to other dimensions—in their action-packed quest to right wrongs, keep the peace and defeat evil everywhere. Unless, of course, they screw things up even more than they were.
Kung Fu Pork Choppers came as a result of a multiple-season agreement between Chinese creator Winsing Company and CraneKahn to export the franchise internationally. Debuting in 2005, GG Bond is seen on more than 150 TV channels and 8 major VOD platforms around China; over 160 million children watch it on CCTV and other major TV channels every year. Ratings show it is consistently in the top 3 animated series for its age group on CCTV, with the total digital/online views exceeding 20 billion.
