Wildbrain to Launch Tulipop Webtoon and Channel
The Icelandic lifestyle brand Tulipop will be expanding its already broad reach thanks to DHX Media’s popular multiplatform kids’ network, Wildbrain. Under their agreement, Wildbrain will be creating an animated web series that features the Tulipop brand’s quirky characters and strangely affecting environment. A global Tulipop Youtube Channel will also be launched to carry the web series.
The Tulipop webtoon series will be formatted as a series of 2.5 minute episodes that are targeted towards kids aged 7 and up, with story-driven adventures set on the absurd island of Tulipop – where surprises can spring up from everywhere, from volcanoes and beaches to mushroom swamps and strawberry fields that sometimes appear where you least expect them.
The Tulipop web series is co-written by Tobi Wilson, whose previous writing credits include the hit animated series The Amazing World of Gumball. The series will also include the participation of Ken Anderson of Red Kit Animation and will borrow heavily from Iceland’s rich fairytale tradition.
