DHX Media’s WildBrain division has launched its new preschool CG-animated series Rev & Roll on YouTube in most markets. The 52 x 11-minute show is a co-production between DHX and Chinese toy company Alpha Group. Episodes became available to stream on YouTube on July 1st.
Rev & Roll follows the adventures of eight-year-old Rev and his best friend Rumble – a rambunctious anthropomorphic truck with all the personality of a loyal and enthusiastic dog! Amped up and always raring to go, Rev and Rumble are an energized pair of truck-powered pals who are living the childhood dream on their family’s ranch, Accelerator Acres. As part of a ranching family and the tight-knit community of Fender Bend, Rev and Rumble live in a revved up world where vehicles live side-by-side with their human best friends. From lovable trucks to curious dune buggies to quick thinking fire trucks, the world of Rev and Rumble is always in motion with jobs to be done and fun to be had! Add Rev’s best friend, Avery, and her ATV, Alley, to the mix, and the laughs keep on coming!
The series was created by Scott and Julie Stewart, the minds behind Kate and Mim-Mim, who also serve as Executive Producers on the series, alongside Anne Loi, Kirsten Newlands and Ken Faier for DHX Media with Isaac Lin and Ray Wang for Alpha Group.
The show was one of the top 30 most screened programs at MIPCOM last fall. Naturally, broadcast partnerships have been signed in a number of markets. Portugal’s Canal Panda will begin to air the show on July 15th. New Zealand’s TVNZ has also picked it up, as has streaming service Hopster. DHX’s Family Jr. channel will air the show in Canada this fall and Alpha’s Jiajia net will run it in China, alongside CCTV, Tencent, iQiyi and YouKu.
Alpha’s toyline for the series will launch as the show rolls out globally.
