Wonder Woman on CW a Possibility

Wonder Woman on CW a Possibility

It’s common knowledge that Warner Bros is currently trying to reintroduce their big three (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman) to either TV and Movie screens, possibly as a knee-jerk reaction to Marvel’s success with the Avengers. The Batman movie property was recently bookended by Nolan, leaving things open for a new take, and the Superman property is ready for a reboot courtesy of Zack Snyder. That leaves Wonder Woman hanging, with the recent TV pilot thumbed down by execs and fans alike. Fortunately, Warner Bros, DC Comics, and the CW may have found a way to revive the Wonder Woman franchise on TV.

According to sources, CW, Warner, and DC are planning a new take on the Wonder Woman franchise, under the working title Amazon. Unlike past small screen incarnations, Amazon will focus on Wonder woman as a young, inexperienced superhero instead of a fully established crime fighter. The idea is that it’s going to be Wonder Woman’s “Smallville.”

Currently, CW is still in the process of developing a script. No pilot production has been greenlit and there are no contractual guarantees yet.
