Fortnite is no stranger to cross-brand promotions, having done cross-promotional events with Avengers: Infinity War and a long string of musicians. So it is no surprise that it will be a vehicle for a Wreck-it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet event, which is currently on the big screens right now all over the Internet.
Unfortunately, fans who are expecting an involved server-wide event like the Thanos crossover will be disappointed, because so far Ralph’s appearance is nothing but a glorified cameo: the CG animated star can be seen in-game at the Risky Reels drive-in, where he briefly pops up on the screen and waves at players, before vanishing again:

Ralph’s cameo in Fortnite looks like a quid-pro-quo deal, because Fortnite also makes some cameos in Wreck-it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet: one of the trailers has Ralph doing the “flossing” dance, which is not originally from Fortnite but there is no doubt that it is currently famous because of the game.
The jury’s not out yet, though. And it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Ralph’s appearance in Fortnite is a teaser for another limited time event. We will keep you posted.
