The WWE and Warner Brothers return for the Flintstones

This comes as a bit of a surprise. World Wrestling Entertainment and Warner Brothers are planning to do a movie using several WWE “Superstars” and the Flintstones. John Cenastone (a Play on CornerStone, based on John Cena), CM Punkrock (CM Punk) and Vince McMagma (you can guess who this guy is) will be in the animated production as Voice Actors. This is the second movie using the Brand Superstars, Scooby Doo’s version with the WWE, is still in production.

Deadline Hollywood’s Mike Fleming Jr however, made this comment:

Considering the cartoon’s love for all things named for all things geological, it seems a glaring absence not to have Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson here, particularly since he occasionally gets in the ring. But maybe that’s too obvious, or too expensive. After all Johnson has been killing it this summer in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain and Fast & Furious 6, and this one doesn’t look like it’s going to hit theaters.

As for the planned remake of the Flintstones backed by Fox and Seth MacFarlane, it has been in limbo/hiatus for several months now. No word if Warner’s have dropped the project.

Ah, crud. I was hoping to read a cheap shot at John Cena regarding that Fruity Pebbles cap that the Rock started against him.
