Lionsgate and Saban Brands have recently tapped X-Men: First Class scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz for a new Power Rangers movie. Additionally, Transformers and Star Trek screenwriter Roberto Orci will be coming on board as an executive producer, also helping Miller and Stentz develop the story.
The last Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie was released back in 1995, so this new project will be welcomed with open arms, as there are still a lot of us Power Rangers fans on the Internet (even if we’ve already moved on to the new iterations and have already discovered the original Japanese sources.)
There are still no details about the story, and the only description of the movie available is that it will re-envision the Rangers. Haim Saban himself will be producing along with Saban Brands’ head of development and production Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur.
