Yellowbird Making its Way to China

EU CG Studio TeamTO has recently inked a distribution deal with China’s Taikong Works for the rights to the debut theatrical CG animated feature Yellowbird, making it the first ever successful deal for TeamTO’s Beijing office, which was only started in June 2016.

Under the deal, Taikong Works will be distributing Yellowbird in China through various platforms, including cinemas, digital media, and traditional broadcast. The announcement reveals that a theatrical release is being planned to coincide with the Chinese New Year next year, and that it will be supported by a strong branding and licensing campaign.

“The traditional relationship where international companies outsource to Chinese animation companies is quickly evolving into a more bilateral relationship, with co-production, co-finance, and co-distribution in a global market of high-quality projects flowing in both directions,” commented Guillaume Hellouin, President of TeamTO.
