Nelvana, the animation producer-distributor of Corus Entertainment, has recently sold multi-territory broadcast and on-demands rights for the new series Polly and the ZhuZhu Pets to Disney Channels all over the world.
ZhuZhu is inspired by the famous popular toy line made in 2009. It will premiere on September 12 on Disney Channel in the U.S. before debuting in Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Austria, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Central and Eastern Europe, Luxembourg, Belgium, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
Polly and the ZhuZhu Pets revolves around the much-loved critter characters Num Nums, Pipsqueak, Mr. Squiggles and Chunk. These cuddly adventurers live with Polly and the Pamplemouse family in Anytown and with their undeniable charm, unique birthmarks and fur-raising adventures, the ZhuZhus prove that they are no ordinary pets.
The premiere of ZhuZhu on Canadian TV will be announced by Corus at a later date. Produced in Nelvana’s Toronto Studio, Polly and the ZhuZhu Pets is executively produced by Colin Bohm, Scott Dyer and Irene Weibel or Nelvana and Russell Hornsby from Cepia LLC.
