Zombillenium to Screen at Cannes 2017
If you are fond of animated features that combine horror elements with quirky humor, you may want to pay attention to the upcoming 70th Cannes Festival on May 24th, as it is going to be where Arthur de Pins and Alexis Ducord’s new animated feature, Zombillenium, will first be presented.
Zombillenium’s story revolves around the titular Halloween theme park, which is said to be the one place on earth where real monsters can hide in plain sight. When the human Hector threatens to disclose the park employees’ true identities, the Vampire Park Manager decides to keep him silent by making him work at the park. Hector then decides to find a way to escape from his Zombies and Werewolves coworkers so that he can see his daughter again.
The Zombillenium feature is adapted from Arthur de Pins’ same-titled series of graphic novels, with animation handled by director David Nasser and production manager Arnauld Boulard. International sales is being handled by Urban Distribution. The feature will also be screened in competition at the 2017 Annecy Festival, as well as the opening-night film.
