Spanish production and distribution outfit Imira Entertainment has partnered with Chilean indie studio Zumbastico Studios in order to co-develop and co-produce a new live action/stop motion preschool series titled “Horatio and the Plasticines.” The agreement will put Imira in charge of international distribution for the show, and will be representing the original 26 x 7 series as well as the new 52-episode run.
Horatio and the Plasticines follows the titular boy and his box of lively plasticine strips, each one having its own distinctive personality, able to provide advice and encouragement in Horatio’s daily adventures. The Plasticines also have their own band, and frequently use colorful songs in order to explain life lessons throughout the show.
“Horatio and the Plasticines has great potential, in everything from the television series to the music, the interactive component to the consumer product opportunities.,” says Imira producer and head of distribution & marketing Christophe Goldberger. “We are already seeking partnerships with broadcasters and licensing partners.”
