Before we talk about how great all these episodes are, if you haven’t done so already, you should check out the story that introduced this DVD. ToonBarn had interviewed Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh, the creators of Phineas and Ferb. These brilliant animators, who are also the voices of Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram, talked to us about animation, Dee Bradley Baker (the voice of Perry the Platypus), The Perry Files DVD, and their wonderful, musical cast. The Animatin’ Rap is a highlight that shows the entire process of making a Phineas and Ferb episode, from premise to final product. Check out the interview here:

Here is a short description of only the Agent P plotlines in each of the episodes on The Perry Files (portions taken from

      No More Bunny Business

Candace finds a rabbit outside of her house and decides to take care of it. However, the rabbit is actually Dennis the Bunny; a former O.W.C.A. agent who went rogue and is on a mission to infiltrate Agent P’s lair and steal the system of the O.W.C.A. At Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated, after realizing that Perry the Platypus isn’t showing up, Dr. Doofenshmirtz decides to create “Planty the Potted Plant” to replace Perry. His plan was to induce all of the dogs away, using the Dog-Biscuit-inator, which is a giant dog bone attached to rockets. He explains how he will cover the bone with “an irresistible gravy coating” and launch the bone out of the Tri-State Area so that all the dogs will follow it, and he won’t be annoyed by the noise they make.

      Spa Day

Doofenshmirtz takes in a lost kitten (Mr. Fluffypants) that causes havoc with his old inventions. Mr. Fluffypants is causing all sorts of trouble, ripping up blueprints and firing his laser cannons by accident. At one point, the Gloominator is fired into the air and is causes the sky to turn gloomy. Major Monogram sends Agent P to stop him, especially since they thought that he had retired the Gloominator months ago. Perry makes his way to Doofenshmirtz’s lair, and he tries to tell Perry the Platypus it was the cat messing around with his equipment. Perry doesn’t believe him and attacks him. Later, Perry has to save Dr. Doofenshmirtz, and the kitten has to be returned to his rightful owner.

      Split Personality

Agent P reports to Major Monogram for his daily mission and is told that Doofenshmirtz is installing an unknown device at the local swimming pool. Dr. Doofenshmirtz tries to get over his fear of high diving, but he figures that if he can’t, he will just use his “Look-away-inator” to zap everyone so that they do not witness his shame. Doofenshmirtz gets up on his feet on the diving board and activates the Look-Away-Inator. When it fires, it forces every single person’s head in Danville to turn away from it, including his, to his surprise.

      Brain Drain

Major Monogram briefs Agent P., saying Dr. Doofenshmirtz has been making purchases at Brain, Bath & Beyond. Perry leaves in his hovercraft. Dr. Doofenshmirtz is busy trying to use his “Devolition-ator” to drain Agent P’s will power so that he can control him. Not to be confused with the “De-evolutionator” from a previous scheme. Things get out of hand when Dr. Doofenshmirtz picks up Vanessa at a party, and Agent P turns the tables on Doofenshmirtz, controlling him to play a song, that all of Vanessa’s friends think is cool. “There’s a Platypus Controlling Me” is one of the best songs on the DVD.

Dr. Doofenshmirtz is being controlled by Agent P.

      Candace Disconnected

Dr. Doofenshmitz tells Charlene he will pick Vanessa up but he can’t go since he is waiting for his exercise show to start. So he decides to build a Pick’em up-inator to pick up Vanessa instead of him. It works perfectly. While Doofenshmirtz is talking to his prototype Norm head, Agent P arrives, and Doofenshmirtz ropes him into joining in on the exercise show, literally. Agent T sees Candace in trouble, and tells Carl, who contacts Perry the Platypus. Perry escapes and sends the Pick’em up-inator to pick up Candace and send her home. It’s nice to see multiple agents in one episode. The OWCA is firing on all cylinders.

      Magic Carpet Ride

Major Monogram is awakened as Perry drops into his chair at headquarters. He tiredly tells Perry that Doofenshmirtz has completely cleared the Tri-State Area of all grape juice, red wine, chocolate, marinara sauce, India ink, and “worst of all”, coffee. Dr. Doofenshmirtz plans on ruining his brother’s art unveiling by using his “Stain-inator” to ruin a mysterious painting, but as it turns out, the painting is Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s very own masterpiece that he created when he was a youth back in Gimmelshtump.

      Ask a Foolish Question

Major Monogram reports to Agent P about some holes appearing throughout the Tri-State Area, and he suspects that Doofenshmirtz has something to do with it. As soon as Agent P got to Doofenshmirtz’s lair, Doofenshmirtz was looking for something, and he got trapped in a quick dry cement. Later he introduced the Metal-un-Earth-inator. Doofenshmirtz explains that the Metal-un-Earth-inator wasn’t his main plan. Doofenshmirtz built it because when he was putting final touches on his All-Purpose-inator, a device that can do anything, he slipped on green paint and dropped the key that activates the All-Pupose-inator on the ground. As a result, he built the Metal-un-Earth-inator to attract any metal object, looking for the key to the All-Pupose-inator. Hilarity ensues.

      Misperceived Monotreme

Wow! Did you guess that the 100th battle between Perry the Platypus and Dr. Doofenshmirtz took place in Misperceived Monotreme? Then, you were right! Forget about counting all the battles in all the episodes. The OWCA calls it the 100th, and their word is law. Major Monogram is beginning to worry about Agent P, and orders Carl to open all the entrances thinking Perry can’t get inside to his lair. Carl is eating his extremely stinky peanut butter, banana, and sardine sandwich as he does this, attracting the sandwich-loving platypus through the tree entrance. He lands in Agent P’s chair, and Major Monogram, mistaking it for the real Agent P, tells the platypus that today is his 100th battle against Doofenshmirtz. They planted hidden cameras all over Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated to watch all the action (and enjoy some cheap laughs). The Zoo Platypus ends up taking Agent P’s place, and in his quest to eat more sandwiches, thwarts Doofenshmirtz’s evil plans, and returns to Agent P’s lair in time to trade places with the real Agent P. Since Isabella didn’t use her famous signature line in this episode, we’ll give you a shout-out here.

      Mommy, Can You Hear Me?

Major Monogram briefs Agent P. about Doofenshmirtz buying different foods in the Tri-State Area and says that he is probably is cooking something evil. Perry quickly leaves his lair with a hang glider rocket. Perry arrives at Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated and is caught in a pickle-like trap. Doofenshmirtz tells him that a few days ago, he went to Tony’s Delicatessen to order a chicken soup but he argued with the owner over a fly he found in the soup. He decide to create and unveil the chicken soup-inator to destroy Tony’s Delicatessen and create a new deli with all the groceries he purchased earlier. Perry and Doofenshmirtz are having a food fight until Perry throws him into the chicken soup-inator which fires and hits the asteroid to change its course and Perry escapes just as the chicken soup-inator was destroyed.

      Road Trip

Perry slips through a secret entrance and gets a briefing from Major Monogram who mentions that Doofenshmirtz is driving a rig not far from his location and tells Perry to investigate him. He expresses how he’s envious of Perry for going on a trip. Perry then goes under the RV to the engine and uses his laptop to hack into the GPS to reroute the RV. Doofenshmirtz tells Perry not to attack him since he is driving and presses a button to tie Perry up with a seat-belt. He explains to Perry that all his Inators need a formula that scientists called “Boom Juice” for the self-destruct sequence. He manages to find a cheap price and has to drive it back home, and decides to talk to Perry about truck driving tales. After Perry escapes, and starts fighting Doofenshmirtz, he notices they are heading toward Cactus Gorge. Perry jumps towards the hitch a Ride-Inator, and turns his fedora into a buzz-saw to cut the Inator to separate it from Doofenshmirtz’s rig as it heads toward the gorge that Doofenshmirtz also jumps out from. Perry quickly fixes the GPS and the laptop to reroutes the RV to prevent it from plunging to Cactus Gorge. Doofenshmirtz runs toward his rig and sees it falling in Cactus Gorge and it explodes.

      Perry the Actorpus

The executive of Totally Tools oversees a contest to find the company’s “spokesanimal,” and Perry is crowned the winner. However, the victory puts Perry’s secret identity in jeopardy, forcing Major Monogram to appoint Agent S as a temporary replacement, but when Dr. Doofenshmirtz sees his new nemesis is Sergei the Snail, he mistakenly underestimates his new opponent. When Phineas and Ferb realize that Perry has returned early, they realize they can spend a whole “half-day” with him. They have fun, until Perry receives a video call from Monogram informing him that Doofenshmirtz had found Agent S’s weakness, and that he would have to go stop Doofenshmirtz himself. Perry quickly leaves without Phineas and Ferb noticing. Perry reaches Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated to rescue Sergei, only to be informed by Doofenshmirtz that the O.W.C.A. by laws state that only one agent is allowed to thwart him at a time. Perry responds by breaking the ring of salt trapping Agent S, who quickly attacks Doofenshmirtz, who is astonished by his fighting skills. Perry grabs the Mustache-Inator, and uses it to deface all of the billboards he is on with mustaches.

Perry the Platypus on a Merry-Go-Round

Perry the Platypus is entering his secret lair, learning that the members of L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. are gathering to elect their first supreme leader. Agent P uses his jet pack to fly to Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated. To enter, he jumps through a window, then accidentally falls through a series of tubes, leading into a large bottle. Dr. Doofenshmirtz says that Agent P is now a “Perry the Platypus in a bottle”, similar to a ship in a bottle. He picks up the bottle, with Perry trapped inside, and informs Perry that he is running to be the leader of L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N, and he takes Perry with him. Backstage, where the televised competition to be the supreme leader of L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N is taking place, Rodney, Doofenshmirtz’s greatest evil rival, attempts to use Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s Make-Everything-Evil-Inator, which he renames the Make-Everything-Evil-Izer to make himself more evil and thus secure his win. Dr. Doofenshmirtz steals his idea and they both fight to be shot with the inator-izer first. The fight accidentally makes the inator hit Lawrence, turning him evil and causing him to win the last round of the competition, where the contestants try to intimidate the others with their most evil glare. Lawrence wins by so many points that he is elected Supreme Leader of L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. Major Monogram advises Perry, through Perry’s wrist communicator, to remind Lawrence of who he really is to turn him back to normal. Perry uses his jet pack to escape and turn the dart that Phineas and Ferb are riding on towards the Danville Arena. They land in the middle of the arena. Lawrence sees them and returns to normal.

      Escape from Phineas Tower

Major Monogram tells Agent P that it is International Good Manners Day, and that ironically, Dr. Doofenshmirtz has chosen this week to make a device that causes rudeness. Doofenshmirtz has brother issues, so he wants to make his brother, Roger, look bad in front of the British dignitary that is coming to visit Danville. While Roger, as Mayor, will be introducing her, Doofenshmirtz plans to shoot him with his Rude-Inator, causing an international incident, during which Doofenshmirtz will come in and take over. Perry, after being trapped in a cat suit, and then escaping, takes a taxi to Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc. and puts a cork in the Rude-Inator. He then jumps from the building and flies off in his para-glider. Back at City Hall, Doofenshmirtz had thought he blasted his brother with the Rude-Inator, because he was behaving rudely with the British Ambassador, but Roger announces that his rudeness was simply a show he and the ambassador put on for the audience. Doofenshmirtz hastily presses the remote for his Rude-Inator, causing it to backup and explode due to the cork. The crowd declares four more years for Roger as Mayor.

      The Remains Of The Platypus

This crazy episode of Phineas and Ferb starts at the end and works its way back to the beginning. Suffice it to say, this one is too mixed up and backwards to describe in a few words. Here is the basic premise, in proper order: Doofenshmirtz makes Perry his butler with his Butler-inator, and Carl is trapped by Doofenshmirtz while in a squirrel costume. Perry realizes who he really is, and manages to retain his fedora from Carl and attacks Doofenshmirtz, taking the evil scientist by shock at how he managed to redeem himself. He pushes Doofenshmirtz into the activation button for the “Vaporizer-Inator” heat ray he’d been intending to use to dominate the Tri-State Area, causing it to fire a bright ray in the direction of Cheesetopia. Perry destroys the Vaporizer-Inator by hitting it with a chair.
