By now, fans of Disney’s hit animated comedy series Phineas and Ferb have already watched (and enjoyed! like we did) their crossover special with Marvel via summer’s Mission Marvel, but we all better get ready for another inter-franchise crossover, as series creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh have announced at the recent Comic-Con that Phineas and Ferb, along with Perry, will be transported to the world of Star Wars in a brand-spanking new adventure slated for a 2014 premiere on Disney and Disney XD.
“May The ‘Ferb’ Be With You and with all of us who for decades have dreamt of a chance to work with the great characters and stories of Star Wars,” Povenmire said during the reveal.
The episode will put Phineas and Ferb in the role of Luke Skywalker’s neighbors on Tatooine, where they find their quite life interrupted as they are thrust into an intergalactic rebellion, where the plans for blowing up a certain planet-sized warship accidentally falls into their hands. What makes things worse is Candace, who is on a mission to bust them in hopes of retrieving the plans.
The voice cast will include Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Ferb Fletcher, Caroline Rhea as mom Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Richard O’Brien as dad Lawrence Fletcher, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus, Alyson Stoner as Isabella, Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet, Bobby Gaylor as Buford, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Major Monogram and Emmy Award-winning Dan Povenmire as Darth Enshmirtz.
