Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle to Have Mega-Evolved Forms in Pokemon X and Y


The recent Nintendo Direct presentation revealed a few welcome details about the latest installment in the Pokemon franchise, X and Y – namely the return of the classic starting trio Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, which are available via Professor Sycamore (the new starters will be Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie.)

What’s even better is that the classic starting trio will each have the newly announced mega-evolved forms. Note that mega evolutions are not permanent, and are merely temporary transformations meant to boost abilities for battle. Kind of like Bankai for pokemon.
