European Pokemon GO Players Will Finally See More Kangaskhan, Unown


True to the source franchise, Niantic Labs’ Pokemon-inspired ARG Pokemon GO ensures that the availability of Pokemon is affected by location. As a result of this, certain breeds will appear very rarely depending on region. For example, Kangaskhan is normally limited to Australia and the Australasia region, while Unown appears randomly and very, very rarely.

All of this will change slightly this weekend, as both Kangaskhan and Unown will start to appear more frequently in certain European cities starting this weekend, giving European players a leg up in completing their collections. If you happen to live near a Unibail-Rodamco shopping center, Lure Modules will be activated at many PokeStops found at these locations for the weekends of August 12 and August 19.

Niantic has not made it clear whether the two Pokemon breeds will leave their original regions or not, but they have made a list of specific places covered by the rare spawn event:
