Fan Video: Avoid Overtraining Pikachu
For a lot of Pokemon trainers, overtraining is a way of life. It’s basically a wise idea to grind away and level up your pokemon early on, so that you can breeze through the game (and other trainers) once you’ve got a well-rounded team of uber-leveled pokemon. However, Youtube animator El-Cid shows that there are risks involved especially if you become overzealous with the training:
As the video shows, leveling up (and maybe evolving) Pikachu is fine, but training him and using illegal substances to turn the cute little electric rodent into a beefy, muscular roid rat makes him dangerous not only to enemy pokemon, but to the trainer as well. For starters, there’s no longer any need for him to use skills – he can crush (literally) an enemy with his bare hands. And it’s going to be hard to control and make him go back to his ball once adrenaline starts surging through those veins.
