New Pokemon Monopoly Set Debuts This Month
The previously announced Legend of Zelda-themed Monopoly set seems like a fresh new project from two established gaming companies from two different mediums, but it isn’t exactly the first one as 1999 already saw the release of a special Monopoly: Pokemon Edition board game. It turns out that they’re going to release a refresh on the original, dubbed Monopoly: Pokemon Kanto Edition, which Gamestop is already offering for pre-order, only a few days ahead of its August 30 release date.
Monopoly: Pokemon Kanto Edition will retail for $45 and will come with a Pokemon-themed game board filled with locales familiar to Pokemon players, particularly all eight gyms in the Kanto Region. The 6 metal tokens that come with the set feature designs based on Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Evee, and Jigglypuff. You can check out pictures below:
