For a while now, we had no choice but to make do with a vague fall release window for the sequel to Pokemon Black/White, but it was okay because we’ve been bombarded with tons of teasers, both in still image and video formats. There’s also the fact that rumors and insider info are sprouting like Diglets left and right, so we’ve had a bunch of stuff to keep us busy while we wait for the release date.
We no longer need to wait, because Nintendo has just sent out a press release that provides a specific date for the much awaited game’s release: Both Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are set to launch for the Nintendo DS in north America on October 7, 2012.
Aside from the full DS games, Nintendo will also be releasing a 3DS exclusive download, titled Pokemon Dream Radar, on the same day. The Dream Radar lets players catch Pokemon in “real life” through augmented reality features, using the 3DS camera. The captured pokemon can then be transferred for use in the Black/White 2 games.
