OLM Inc Opens Facilities in Malaysia
Japanese animation studio OLM Inc., which is known for being behind numerous popular TV hits, including Pokemon, Berserk, Inazuma Eleven, Yo-Kai Watch, and Beyblade Burst, has recently announced the opening of a new shop in Malaysia. This new Malaysian studio aims to take advantage of top quality local talent, as well as meet the burgeoning demand for creative work in Malaysia. The studio is scheduled to open in April at science park Cyberjaya, which is situated in the Malaysian equivalent of Silicon Valley, dubbed as the Multimedia Super Corridor.
“Through our study, we’ve found Malaysia’s art education level ranked top among Southeast Asian countries,” said OLM’s director of Asia business Hidehiko Kitajima at Kuala Lumpur’s big Comic Fiesta con in December.
Kitajima also stated that the Cyberjaya studio will serve as a stepping stone for many digital painters and animation artists, via an internship program that will help train local students in the distinct Japanese animation style.
