Pokémon brings on new British broadcast partners
The Pokémon Company has made two big broadcast partnerships in the United Kingdom. The house that Pikachu built has signed agreements with Sony Pictures Television Networks and Sky UK Limited.
The Sony agreement will see Pokémon the Series: Black and White available across the company’s Pop linear television and video-on-demand offerings. The show has been airing on Pop Max daily since January, with Black & White: Rival Destines beginning last month. Sky subscribers will now have access to Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl on demand and via the Sky Kids app.
This is in addition to the company’s longstanding partnership with CITV, who recently debuted the latest season, Pokémon the Series: Sun and Moon – Ultra Adventures on March 26th.
The latest episodes of Ash and Pikachu’s journeys have traveled the world. After debuting last October in Japan on TV Tokyo, the 21st season premiered on Teletoon in English Canada on March 10th, on Disney XD in the United States on March 24th, and Teletoon in French Canada on April 7th.
