Pokemon Goes ARG with Pokemon GO
The Pokemon Company, despite being considered as one of the few gaming companies that still care about their fans, seem to have some sort of vendetta against my free time, because they have just announced a new co-prod with SF-based developer Niantic. This time around it’s a mobile game for the iOS and Android platform, but what makes it unique from the usual Pokemon fare is that it’s an augmented reality game.
There was already an ARG Pokemon app for the Nintendo 3DS, but come on – this one resides on your smartphone so chances are you’ll be lugging it around wherever you go, and you won’t be able to resist the siren call of that rare Pokemon waiting to be fought and caught in the real world.
You can check out the debut trailer below if you can’t wrap your head around fighting Pokemon in REAL LIFE:
Now, if you really want to get into the game – you can score a Pokemon Go Plus, which is an optional wearable device that connects via Bluetooth and lets you know when certain actions are available, while also letting nearby bullies know that your lunch money is ripe for the taking.
Both Pokemon Go and the Pokemon Go Plus accessory are scheduled to launch next year.
