Nintendo is just about ready to release their Pokemon Bank service for the 3DS on December 27, and as a way of preparing fans, they have also released a new promo video that demonstrates and highlights some of the features of the service.
For the uninitiated, the Pokemon Bank is exactly what its name implies – a virtual “bank” for your Pokemon collection, which you can use to store, and retrieve your Pokemon collection from one device into another. You can check out the video below to see things in action:
The features, via Nintendo’s press release:
· Deposit, withdraw, and manage up to 3,000 Pokémon in private boxes online through an internet connection
· Transfer Pokémon from multiple copies of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, including the downloadable versions, using one Nintendo 3DS system
· Transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y using the Poké Transporter, a linked application received when you download Pokémon Bank
The Pokemon Bank service and its companion app, the Poke Transporter, can be downloaded for free starting on launch up to January 31, 2014. Note that while the service is free at first, it will expire after 30 days of use. After which the service will cost $4.99 per year.
