Stunning POKEMON Poster Drawn by YOUR NAME Artist

A new poster has been released to coincide with the 20 anniversary Pokemon film, and the art style is not only undeniably beautiful with its lush rendering of greeneries and a shiny Pokeball, it may also be familiar to many anime fans. That’s because the artist behind it is Yoshitoshi Shinomiya, who is a prominent background artist that has worked on the Makoto Shinkai films “The Garden of Words” and “your name.”

The poster hearkens back to the poster art for Garden of Words, and debuts one day before Pokemon: I Choose You! Hits theaters in Japan. The new film is intended to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise, as it revisits Ash’s early adventures as a fledgeling Pokemon trainer and his early partnership with the yellow electric pokemon, Pikachu.

Sports Hochi is currently offering an A1-sized print of this poster in a special Pokémon themed issue, on newsstands now.
