ToonBarn at SDCC: Day 4 Recap
Day 4, the last day at San Diego Comic-Con, thrilled audiences with 2 World Premieres for 2 Warner Bros/DC Comics animated films coming to DVD/Blue-ray and Digital HD in August. ToonBarn’s Marc Morrell interviewed the casts and crews of both movies and attended the world premiere screenings and panels that followed those screenings.
To see the rest of our Daily Recaps for SDCC, catch these stories:
LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom
We had interviews with the cast and crew of LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom, including Troy Baker (Batman), Khary Payton (Cyborg), Josh Keaton (Green Lantern), John DiMaggio (Lex Luthor/The Joker), Brandon Vietti (Producer), and Jim Krieg (Writer). After the interviews, we were given a screening of the full movie, followed by a panel with these same people, where they answered questions from the audience. The movie was great! They keep getting better and better with every movie, and the jokes and easter eggs hit you at every turn. The joke about Area 52 is priceless!
LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom comes out on Blu-rayTM Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD on August 25, 2015. The Blu-rayTM and DVD releases will include an exclusive Trickster LEGO® Minifigure, while supplies last. This will be available on Blu-rayTM Combo Pack for $24.98 and on DVD for $19.98. The Blu-rayTM Combo Pack includes a digital version of the movie on Digital HD with UltraViolet. Fans can also own LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom in Digital HD on August 11 via purchase from digital retailers.
Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem
We also had interviews with the cast and crew of Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem, the sequel to Animal Instincts, including Roger Craig Smith (Batman), Troy Baker (The Joker), Khary Payton (Cyborg), Will Friedle (Nightwing), Yuri Lowenthal (Red Robin), Dave B. Mitchell (Clayface), and Heath Corson (Writer). This was followed by a screening of the full movie, followed by a panel with these same people, where they answered questions from the audience. The movie was terrific! Every Batman fan will appreciate this story, which offers a chance to see Batman at his best, when the Joker knocks out Batman’s vehicles (and the whole city of Gotham) and then uses them against him.
Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem arrives from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-rayTM Combo Pack and DVD on August 18, 2015 for $19.98, and via Digital HD on August 4.
Our day finished up with another visit to the Exhibit Hall floor, where we saw more items for sale that we simply can’t afford to go into debt over (…yet).
Overall, our 4 days at San Diego Comic-Con were totally awesome! It started with Scooby Doo and KISS and ended with Batman Unlimited, with tons of cool interviews in between (Cowabunga, Dude!) from the people bringing you the animated shows and movies that both adults and kids love. There are so many things we planned to do that we simply could not do, due to sold out panels or time constraints. If you’ve ever been to SDCC, you’ll know what we’re talking about. That’s why we were unable to attend the Teen Titans Go! panel, the Marvel Animation panel, and the LEGO Marvel Video Games panels. But, don’t fret. ToonBarn has already secured badges for New York Comic Con, which promises to include LEGO Marvel Video Games, Star Wars Rebels, and much, much more. In the meantime, we will be editing together the interviews we recorded at SDCC and releasing those to you as soon as we finish each one. Thanks for following ToonBarn’s coverage of San Diego Comic-Con!
