DreamWorks brings Shrek and Monsters Vs. Aliens shorts to Nintendo 3DS

Dreamworks Animation, and Nintendo have announced a series of shorts coming to the Nintendo 3DS’s Nintendo Video application. The two shorts will be based on Dreamworks wildly successful Shrek, and Monsters Vs. Aliens film series. The first short, “The Pig Who Cried Werewolf” is now available for free download. The second short, “Night of the Living Carrots” will be available sometime in the near future.

The Pig Who Cried Werewolf follows the exploits of the three little pigs, whom have a mysterious new neighbor, and get in all kinds of trouble in this 6 minute Rear Window inspired short directed by Gary Trousdale. Shrek fans will know him as the director of the Shrek The Halls, Scared Shrekless, and Thriller Night specials.

The shorts will run in rotation on the Nintendo Video service for an unspecified amount of time before appearing in other venues. As Nintendo Video rotates content on a random basis, it’s suggested to catch them while you can! These new shorts will play a part in Nintendo marketing focus for this holiday season, centred by a games lineup including Super Mario 3D Land, and a heavily reduced price to $169.
