The Simpsons Pay Tribute to Disney Animation

It doesn’t matter whether you love or hate it, there is no denying that Disney Animation has become such a huge, influential part of the industry that they have become synonymous with animation itself, at least in certain circles. The Simpsons, while an extremely established and massively popular cartoon, recognizes Disney’s significance and in their most recent couch gag have decided to pay tribute.

Created by veteran Disney animator Eric Goldberg, the gag has The Simpsons taking on a look that is reminiscent of specific eras in Disney Animation history, from the monochrome slapstick of the Oswald era, to the muted tones of Cinderella, and the bright, sharp greeneries in the Jungle Book as Homer gives his take on Baloo. You can watch the clip below:

The episode that will feature this couch gag is titled “Fland Canyon,” and will air this Sunday, April 24, at 8/7c on FOX.
