Sony and Cartoon Network Celebrate Christmas with the Smurfs

If you’re one of the many people who enjoyed Sony Animation’s refreshing CG take on The Smurfs, you would do well to tune in to Cartoon Network this December 5 at 7:30PM, as Sony will be prepping The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol.

The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol was directed by Troy Quane, and features the voices of George Lopez, Jack Angel, Melissa Sutrm, Fred Armisen, Gary Basaraba, Anton Yelchin, and Hank Azaria. The story focuses on Grouchy Smurf, who behaves so badly to everyone and refuses to celebrate Christmas that he receives a visit from the Smurfs of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. The story of The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol is inspired by the classic Charles Dickens novel.

The small screen airing of The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol serves as a great lead in to Raja Gosnell’s The Smurfs 2, which is scheduled to hit the big screens on July 31, 2013.
