Marvel’s hit animated series Ultimate Spider-Man will be web-swinging its way back to your TV screens via another season run on Disney XD. The order for the second season of the hit action-adventure toon was announced Disney XD Worldwide VP and general manager David Levine.
Ultimate Spider-man follows the adventures of the web-crawling superhero as he protects New York and trains with S.H.I.E.L.D. with other teenage superheroes at the same time. The show has already doubled its viewership amongst boys 6-14, boys 6-11, and boys 2-11 since its debut in April, and execs are expecting the numbers to increase even further especially since there’s also a spider-man movie soon to open in theaters (The Amazing Spider-man is set in a different continuity from Ultimate Spider-man, but hey, a spiderman is a spiderman)
The second season of Ultimate Spider-Man will serve as the anchor for Disney XD’s Marvel Universe block, and will have Spidey teaming up with a few of the big hitters in the Marvel Universe, including current darlings of the box office Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the Hulk. The show is produced by Marvel Animation for Disney XD under the direction of co-exec producers Man of Action and creative consultant Paul
